Blood center celebrates 40th anniversary
UCHealth Garth Englund Blood Center provides 90% of the blood needed at our northern Colorado hospitals. GEBC reached its 40th anniversary in late 2021 but because of the pandemic was unable to have a public celebration. Thus, the center is planning something special later this year to celebrate its four decades of service. Golf classic raises $35K to advance health care
We were thrilled to host the Northern Colorado Golf Classic this year after a two-year hiatus. The May 16 event netted over $35,000 for UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation’s Greatest Need Fund. This fund is a flexible resource that helps fuel UCHealth’s continuous pursuit of medical excellence—empowering patients, strengthening communities and creating a healthier world.
Passionate about investing in your community’s health?
It’s not only possible, it’s easy to do with a beneficiary designation. Just name UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation as a beneficiary to receive a percentage of your assets such as retirement plans and life insurance policies after you’re gone. You simply fill out a beneficiary form that is entirely separate from your will. In fact, many of our legacy donors who have identified UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation as a beneficiary do not have a will.
WISH giving circle announces 2022 award recipients
Women Investing in Strategies for Health (WISH), a program of UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation, is a giving circle formed by a group of local women. WISH educates, empowers and inspires women philanthropists. WISH members pool funds to support programs, projects, and services provided by UCHealth in northern Colorado. For WISH's 2022 funding cycle, a total of $69,150 was awarded to 16 programs.
Funding supports purchase of monitors for parents to see their babies in intensive care unit
Parents and extended family can now remotely view their critically ill premature baby in the hospital thanks to a 24/7 video streaming system. The technology, purchased with support from The Antioch Foundation, was installed in UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in late March.
A scholarship recipient ‘pays it forward’
Ruthie Weyant, MSN, RN, CCRN-CMC, works at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies and is a past scholarship recipient and current foundation donor. She believes in education as a stepping stone. After Weyant completed her education with the help of scholarships, she was eager to extend the same helping hand to others.
Accelerating MCR’s path to becoming a Level 1 trauma center
Donors’ contributions to our emergency department/emergency services fund facilitated the purchase of LUCAS chest compression devices and GlideScope Core airway visualization systems for UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies.

New electronic system streamlines check-in for blood donors
The generosity of our donors enabled UCHealth Garth Englund Blood Center (GEBC) to purchase an electronic donor-screening system that increases efficiency, which is especially helpful as our country experiences an ongoing blood shortage. GEBC provides 90% of the blood needed at our northern Colorado hospitals—having a profound impact in our community.
