Grateful Patient Day is a way to show appreciation for the amazing, dedicated people who work in the health care field. Recognizing a health care worker uplifts the recipient and inspires all who hear the story. Expressing gratitude is a powerful part of the healing journey for patients and their families.
Over the past year, grateful patients in northern Colorado have honored 92 of our health care heroes—and the entire staff of eight hospital units—as “Guardian Angels.” Our Guardian Angel program is an opportunity for grateful patients and their loved ones to make a gift to the foundation in honor of someone who had an impact on their visit or stay. All employees and volunteers of Poudre Valley Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies, Greeley Hospital and their affiliated clinics are eligible to be Guardian Angels.
A grateful patient honored James, a nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital, with a donation to our Greatest Needs Fund. She said, “I would like to recognize James, my super nurse, for being understanding and full of good humor. Anybody can be skillful, but to also be kind is something extra, and I certainly found that at UCHealth.”
In honor of Grateful Patient Day, we list these Guardian Angels recognized by our patients in the past year.
