UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation has added three new members to its board of directors: Stephanie Fancher-English of Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete; Alicia Thorpe of Galloway & Company in Johnstown; and Dr. Stephanie Lockwood of Associates in Family Medicine in Fort Collins.
Erica Siemers, regional executive director of the foundation, said the three were chosen because of their demonstrated commitment to fostering healthy, strong communities.
“Stephanie Fancher-English’s family-owned local business has existed for decades and is invested in building a community that future generations will want to live in. Alicia Thorpe has spent her architectural engineering career working on projects that serve the greater northern Colorado community. Dr. Lockwood, whose residency training was at UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital, has cared for thousands of northern Coloradans in her 17 years of practice, Siemers said. “We are delighted to have these accomplished individuals join our well-respected board of directors. Their unique perspectives and insights will augment our efforts to empower our community members to live healthy, generous and meaningful lives,” she said.
Fancher-English graduated from University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and holds an MBA in marketing from University of Phoenix. She is manager of engineering, permitting and land use for Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete, a business her family established in 1955. She currently serves on the boards of Loveland Chamber of Commerce, Larimer County Fair, and Colorado Stone Sand and Gravel Association. Her past board service includes Loveland Utilities Commission and Loveland Planning Commission.
“Our roots run deep in Loveland,” Fancher-English said. “My family has owned and operated Loveland Ready-Mix for 66 years—three generations—and we strive to support and contribute to a strong community for the next generation and beyond. My husband, Darryl, and I have raised five daughters here, and Darryl also owns local businesses. My service on the board of UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation is a natural extension of my desire to be part of making our region among the healthiest places to live and work.”
Thorpe is a professional engineer, licensed in 27 states. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Wyoming, she spent 19 years as a project manager with AE Associates before joining Galloway & Company in 2016. Throughout her career, Thorpe has overseen construction projects to create buildings that contribute to communities’ vibrancy. In cities all along the Front Range, including Fort Collins, Greeley, Johnstown, Loveland, Platteville and Windsor, Thorpe has managed projects to construct medical facilities, residential and multifamily housing, and municipal buildings.
“My husband, Wil, and I have lived in Greeley since 1997, and we value the agricultural community and diversity Greeley offers,” Thorpe said. “Wil has dedicated 23 years to working in the Greeley middle school community, and our daughter is now in middle school. Joining the foundation board is an exciting way for me to contribute to our community. I’m particularly interested in the opportunity to work on initiatives that support expanded health education and access to health care in our region.”
Born and raised on the East Coast, Dr. Lockwood studied mathematics at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Prior to her career shift to medicine, Dr. Lockwood worked as a software engineer in the Silicon Valley. She attended medical school at the University of California, Davis, and moved to Fort Collins for residency training at PVH. She remained on staff at the PVH residency program as a faculty physician before joining Associates in Family Medicine in 2007. Dr. Lockwood lives in Fort Collins with her husband, Dale, and has two children.
“Family medicine is my vocation. I love helping patients stay healthy and active and am so fortunate to do so in a place where we all can enjoy everything our beautiful region has to offer,” said Lockwood. “Health care philanthropy is important in creating a place where our families, friends and neighbors can flourish. I’m honored to join in the foundation’s mission to support and enhance the health of our community.”
Lockwood also serves on the board of directors of Poudre Valley Health Care, Inc., and Medical Center of the Rockies—the combined board for PVH and MCR. She will serve as the liaison between the hospital and foundation boards.
